Course 09/10 starts

The course 09/10 starts with the presentation of the progress at School and tha action plan for the new year.

On last Friday 23 October, seeking for revealing all the improvements to all Añoreta School parents made in recent months and coinciding with the meeting of parents of the beginning course, took place the presentation 'Action Plan and new initiatives 2009/2010'.

The families, called around 7 PM to the School basketball pavilion, attended a ceremony that began with a welcome by the CEO and president of Novasoft, Francisco Barrionuevo. During his speech, Barrionuevo developed a presentation with the action taken so far at different levels to improve the quality of facilities and lessons offered at the Center. From all the improvements, comes into view the new corporate image, the new website of Añoreta School, the changes in student nutrition with the introduction of Softfood in the kitchen of the Center, and the reform of the facilities.

Furthermore, Francisco Barrionuevo invited on stage the Responsable of Secretariat, Rocío Greco, who presented the Moodle platform, the new educational tool embedded in the daily training of the school's students. This platform is introduced by virtual training after a previous technology deployment and training for teachers in order to significantly improve the educational performance and adapt to the way of teaching by new languages for communication and information management, through which they will communicate teachers, students and parents.

In the third intervention, the School Principal, José Ramón Sendra, brings the balance of the latter year which says that the 2nd year high school students have satisfactorily passed by the entrance exams to the university (selectivity) with 100% pass rate and an average of 7.2. After a word of thanks to all the team of teachers of the School, the board of directors and others who make possible the advancement and improvement of the School, welcomed Sendra that since last Friday is the new director of Añoreta School, Elvira Baez, until then deputy sub director of the School.

After the event, the parents moved to their children's classes where they held a meeting for the beginning of the course with their tutors to analyze the onset and course planning 2009/2010.

Upon completion, attendees could enjoy a meal in the Primary eating room served by the food chain of Novasoft Group, Softfood.

World citizens

Colegio Añoreta promotes cultural diversity in the 3rd World Nations Fair. More than one thousand people came to enjoy the event.

The event, which aims to inculcate in students values such as equality and solidarity, has seen an influx of over a thousand participants.

Añoreta School students participated today in the Third Exhibition of World Citizens Nations - World Citizens, an event which this year has had the participation of over a thousand people; students, parents and teachers of the School. The Fair of Nations is one of the most important activities carried out by Añoreta School throughout the school year and is oriented to students of Primary and Secondary Education. It aims to educate on diversity, equality, justice, solidarity, respect and multicultural tolerance while visitors can see pictures, the gastronomy and curiosities of different countries, as indicated in the inaugural event by the director the Center, José Ramón Sendra.

All participating students have worked on this project since the beginning of the course. During this time they have held workshops with their teachers to know the folklore, cultural realities and traditions, among others, of different nations. This time the students have had the opportunity to learn the ways of life of the countries that are present in the Comenius Project, which also involved the School with the aim of encouraging the school's healthier eating habits and knowledge of the environment.

Thus, the pavilion has become the center for a few hours at a center of cultural diversity which has brought together England, Denmark, Wales, Romania, Turkey, Italy, Poland and Slovakia. They have also been included India, Thailand and China as major exponents of the Asian cultural wealth.

The Third Exhibition of World Citizens Nations - World Citizens is an ambitious project that aims to the Center that students acquire the values of solidarity and knowledge about other cultures and countries to supplement their academic training.

Añoreta School director has been joined at the opening event of the Councilor of Culture of the City of Rincon de la Victoria, Eulalia Serrano and the Councilor of Culture, Encarnación Anaya, who have visited together with teachers of the center different stands organized for the occasion. Following its policy of partnership with the community, Añoreta School will donate all profits raised by this activity to the NGO Action Aid, a total of 1,000 Euros.

Solidarity race

This is the 5th. year Colegio Añoreta organizes the 'Kilometers of Solidarity' race for Save The Children.

The School hosts for the fifth year the Añoreta Race “Kilometers of Solidarity” to Save the Children.

On this occasion, the act is done for the benefit of the children in Niger with the goal of alleviating hunger and disease resulting from a drought that has lasted since 2005.

Moreover raising funds for a charitable cause, the conclusion of this race aims to promote solidarity among school children and such values as multiculturalism, tolerance, coexistence and solidarity, while developing a critical and participatory behave.

This charity event has been very well received at the Center by teachers and students in all editions. Last year we gathered 170 participants between students, teachers and parents at Añoreta School. Between them, they collected 1,500 Euros managed by Save the Children to help children in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This year, the Center hopes to break all attendance records and collection.

With the participation of all schools in the race last year Save the Children was able to launch 20 new schools, provided school enrollment to 8,800 children, and worked to alleviate the nutritional deficiencies of some other 2,400 and made 25,200 vaccines.

This year the participation in the initiative is over a thousand educational centers across Spain, so that Añoreta School has refused to miss the appointment, which will run from 11.00 AM on Saturday, on November 8 at the Center itself (Road Macharaviaya s/n, Rincon de la Victoria).

Save the Children is the leading independent organization dedicated to children that has a presence in 29 countries and develops more than 100 humanitarian aid programs. The NGO conducted educational activities that promote values such as tolerance and defend the rights of children worldwide.

Food for Thought

Añoreta School students participate in a European-wide educational project that will promote healthy habits.

In this initiative, Food for Thought, students from 5th and 6th grade of Añoreta School participate in this year's Europe wide educational project Comenius with eight other countries (England, Denmark, Wales, Romania, Turkey, Italy, Poland and Slovakia).

The theme in which the Center takes part is Food for Thought and aims to promote among students the healthier eating habits and knowledge of the environment. Under this initiative, Añoreta School has today received a visit from a group of teachers and managers from other countries participating in the project. This group of teachers has been able to see in firsthand the work undertaken by students in developing the project. The teachers have met the Center's director, José Ramón Sendra, and responsible teachers for the project. The event was also attended by councilors of Education and Culture of the City of Rincon de la Victoria, Eulalia Serrano and Encarnación Anaya, respectively.

The completion of the Comenius project will last two academic years. During the development of the project, students will work to develop a dictionary of weather and greetings from nine different languages and a manual on how to care for an orchard fruits accompanied by a series of photographs of the growth of products. They will also develop a calendar of European Food Festivals and the European Food Guide for Primary Children. School members are also working on a weather station to develop a table of temperatures and precipitation in the nine participating countries. The completion of these activities will also serve to focus the theme of the Fair of Nations, and that participating countries will be the stars of the same.

Comenius Project - Food for Thought not only benefit the kids involved, but the entire educational community since, through this initiative, students who become agents of social change will also purchase important values for coexistence and personnel development of each one and will be part of a generation of Europeans more aware of the importance of healthy habits.

II World citizens

Primary and Secondary Añoreta School students show the cultural diversity of the center at the Second Exhibition of World Citizens Nations 'World citizens' who participated in a total of 1,300 people.

This is an activity intended to educate on diversity, equality, justice, solidarity, respect and multicultural tolerance, as explained at the opening by the Center's director, José Ramón Sendra.

The Center pavilion has been used to accommodate the eight booths in which students have shown images of food and curiosities from different parts around the world including Brazil, Egypt, Japan, Mexico, Algeria and Cameroon. The Second Exhibition of World Citizens Nations - World Citizens is an ambitious project that the Management wants to pass to the school members seeking to inculcate values of solidarity and knowledge about other cultures and countries.

The director of Añoreta School has been joined at the opening event of the Council of Culture of the City of Rincon de la Victoria, Eulalia Serrano and the Council of Culture Encarnación Anaya, who have visited with the directive of the Center's various stands organized for the occasion.
