School Rules

To ensure a satisfactory development of this academic course and to reinforce coexistence in the educational community based on values such as respect, equality and tolerance, has established the following rules that students should be governed from the Center:

We expect from our students a peaceful, respectful, tolerant and educated behave in classrooms, common areas in the Center, on buses and in all external trips and visits made during the course. The fights, aggressive actions, discriminatory, disrespectful and criminal of any type that affect both members of the educational community as to its properties and facilities of the Center, will be penalized in proportion to the damage caused and the seriousness of the breaches, which may mean even an expulsion from the Center. The cases of consumption, possession or dealing of illegal substances, and tobacco and alcohol consumption are considered very serious and will result in the expulsion.

It´s not accepted to discriminate against anyone on grounds of physical, economic, gender, race, ideological or religious. Students who have suffered some kind of discriminatory or disrespectful are able to go to communicate their complaints to the professor in charge of the Department of Personal Relationships.

It is essential to maintain order and cleanliness in all Center facilities, as so as the silence in classrooms, hallways and study sites (libraries and support) and low noise level in other common areas, especially at places of eating.

Our students should know and respect the rules of punctuality, organization and uniformity, as well as the responsibilities outlined below and bearing the consequences associated with not observing these rules:

Punctuality and attendance

We expect from our students punctuality in class attendance. Students with a delay exceeding 5 minutes shall not come to class and must go to a class instructed by the teacher. Parents will be informed by agenda of these delays. This rule does not apply if the delay is properly justified.

  • If a student arrives late to class because he has been talking to a teacher, should be justified to be allowed entry into the class.
  • Leave the classroom to go to the Secretariat of the Center is allowed only during periods of recess.
  • When a student cannot attend the Center, must bring the proof from their parents on the agenda and submit in advance if the absence was known, otherwise bring it on the first day that the student joins the class.
  • Absences from class for justified reasons not imply that the student is exempted from schoolwork: it is his or her responsibility to contact a colleague to provide information about homework, tests and the work done during his absence.
  • When a student's absence prevented from conducting a test, he or she can do it in another date if the absence is properly justified. The test will be done when the student rejoin the classes. If the absence exceeds one week, the date of the examination will be determined by the concerned teacher.
  • In order to realize a test of a trimester end, a final course or special convocation, it will be allowed only by medical evidence.

Internal organization (classroom)

We expect from our students a receptive, interested, participatory and responsive to the instructions given by the teacher for both classroom work and for work done at home.

  • The student is the only responsible for his/her school materials, to present it in the classroom to the corresponding subjects and take it home to study or do homework, to keep it in the locker to prevent it to be stolen or suffer any damage and take conveniently marked with your name.
  • Students who cause damage to the equipment of a partner should assume the cost incurred.
  • The intentional damage of equipment and facilities of the School will be considered serious misconduct.
  • To the school material must be given the intended use: the agenda is a means of communication between teachers and parents of students so it should only contain data for dates of exams, homework, notes and school work. On the page of personal data the agenda needs a photo of the student stuck with the school seal.
  • For a successful development of the classes, it must respect the work pace set by the teacher, avoiding unnecessary interruptions. When it’s necessary to interrupt the teacher, it should be asked with a prior permission of hands.
  • Students may leave class only to go to toilets in exceptional and justified cases, because for it they have sufficient time during periods of recess or at the opening and closing time of the School. The application of this rule is more flexible when affect smaller students.
  • In the breaks between classes, the students must remain in the classroom until the arrival of the teacher.
  • It should always speak with respect to the teachers and other students and with a very polite treatment to the teachers.

External organization

  • Upon arrival at the Center, students who come in their own vehicles - except bicycles - must park outside the Center, without making the School responsible in the event of suffering any damage.
  • The entrance to the classroom after recess in mid-morning and mid-day will be done neatly in rows that follow the teacher to the classroom. For high school students, is sufficient to form a group with the teacher.
  • From one classroom to another following the school timetable is important to maintain the order and go quietly to not disturb the development of classes.
  • It is allowed to leave the Center at mid-day accompanied by an adult (parent, tutor or authorized person), a standard that must also meet high school students.
  • In the center it is not allowed to eat chewing gum or candy. If a student on his birthday gives sweets to their colleagues, they must save them in their bags and enjoy outside the School.
  • Students may bring books, gaming accessories (elastics, ropes, balls...) and informative and educational magazines to the Center for use in their recess periods, but not other kinds of toys and magazines. Nor are allowed mobile telephones or Walkmans. To bring them, the teacher may retain them and return them personally to the student's parents.
  • The possession of dangerous sharps is considered serious misconduct.

Uniformity

Students should always wear the official school uniform which may be appropriate in each case: in September, June and during Physical Education classes or Sports, sports uniforms (it allows the use of shorts), white socks and sneakers without black soles. From October to May, the non-sports uniform with navy or black shoes (no water or suede), socks and belt with the same color. The belt must be fitted to the waist. The undershirt color may not be seen through the uniform and must not hover above the collar or polo.

  • Primary students who have swimming in Physical Education subject should come in sports uniform.
  • From Primary 3rd grade, students will be showering and will use the no-sports uniform after every Physical Education class or Sports activities; however, they may be left the tracksuit to return home after a sports session. Also, students who have Physical Education class at 9 AM can come home with the sports uniform.
  • As in the case of school supplies, we recommend students to mark with their names all clothes, since the Center is not responsible for their loss. The clothes forgotten in the Center and unclaimed by the end of the course, will be donated to charity, while the underwear (briefs, panties, socks, etc.)will be removed daily.
  • Referring to ornaments for the girls, we call for simplicity and common sense, both in the use of rings (not permitted if they have edges that can scratch), bracelets and earrings and makeup. Students may not wear earrings. Chains or pendants should not be visible.
  • It is recommended that students use watch as bracelets to manage your time effectively.
  • No piercings or tattoos are permitted even if it´s temporary or made with pens or similar things.
  • Students must wear short hair, cut in a standard way, without extravagance. In the case of using dye, hair must be evenly dyed and by natural colors. The hair must be natural.
  • Any clothing or adornment not allowed may be retained by teachers to be returned in person to parents.
  • The students of Second Bachelor´s Degree, in terms of uniformity, enjoy a different treatment.

Eating room/Refectory

We expect our students to behave correctly and educated in the eating room, avoiding excessive noise, keeping the tables and the floor cleaned and leaving the chairs well placed to leave the room. To get up, must seek permission from the teacher or monitor that is doing the guard.

  • To ensure a proper nutrition, students should consume at least 75% of the contents of their trays, they can only repeat once and if they have previously consumed 100% of each dish.
  • In case of food allergies, the student will provide a medical certificate to confirm it.
  • Students, who have intolerance with any kind of food, are vegetarian or are having beliefs which are incompatible with some food, must bring a proof signed by their parents to avoid being served. Parents who have already reflected this in the registration form don´t need to provide such evidence.
  • After eating it is not allowed to do physical exercise or run.
  • The rules listed affect both the scope of the School, the bus trips in outdoor excursions and cultural visits.
  • If case of any doubt about any of these rules it will remain always the criteria of the School.
  • The School reserves the right to change or add any rule.
